An 11-year-old boy visited Normandy, France “to say thank you to the soldiers who fought and died on Omaha beach on D-Day morning 70 years earlier.” He took his American flag down to Omaha Beach and planted it in the sand. Staring out at the ocean, he brought up his hand to salute the past.
Standing firm and holding his salute for over an hour, interested tourists, children, veterans, and all sorts of people went down to see him and some paid their respects alongside him.
