A local firefighter saved Jake from a burning shed when he was only a few weeks old. He suffered burn wounds to his body from the fire. They took him to the vet and that’s when the poor puppy’s life took a dramatic turn…
The tiny Pit Bull suffered burn wounds to his body from the fire.
His owners abandoned him after the fire.
So the firefighter who rescued Jake decided to adopt him.
The poor puppy recovered quickly with his new family taking good care of him.
Jake grew up at the fire station.
The Tower truck is his favorite spot.
He loves to help the crew like checking the fire hydrants.

Jake becomes the official mascot of the Hanahan Fire Department. One of his official duties is visiting local schools with the firefighters and helping teach children about fire safety.
Jake was even sworn in as the official mascot. He took a K-9 Oath of Office pledge.
The fire department also made him an official member of the team. Here are his cool vest and badge.
His mom made for him a firefighter’s uniform.
Jake continues to give back to the community. He’s now training to become a licensed therapy dog for kids who suffer burns just like him.
