Nestled amidst rolling mountains and towering pines is the abandoned town of Kitsault in British Columbia, Canada. The town was erected in 1979 and has been deserted for the past 30 years.
Kitsault was originally intended as a housing facility for the miners (and their families) who worked for the American Mining Corporation Phelps Dodge and Molybdenum mine in the area.
Take a look.

The town was equipped with schools, hospitals, shopping centers, and other community basics that were built to serve 1200 residents.

They wanted to create a comfortable life for the miners and their families who would need to relocate there.

But in 1982, the price of molybdenum plummeted forcing the mine to close.

The town became too pricey to maintain which resulted in the removal of its residents.

For years, Kitsault’s only inhabitants were the town’s caretaker and his wife.

Although there were several talks suggesting the town may open again for molybdenum mining in the near future.

Despite being a “ghost town” for many years, Kitsault remains well kept and everything is as neat as it was when residents left it in 1983.

Without a doubt, walking around, exploring the town would be an eerie experience.
