A bunch of architects from the firm STUDIOKCA turned 53,780 plastic bottles into a dreamy, cloud-shaped pavilion on Governor’s Island. These are the amount of bottles thrown away in just one hour in New York City alone.
According to the Container Recycling Institute (CRI), more than 60 million plastic water bottles are thrown away each day in the United States. This is why STUDIOKCA decided to build the “Head in the Clouds” using recycled plastic bottles. This sustainable design is capable of providing shelter for 50 people.
