7 Shows like Lucifer

Lucifer is a story of a bored and unhappy lord of hell, Lucifer, who decided to leave his throne and retire to Los Angeles, where he owns a night club. He teamed up with a detective to take down criminals. Lucifer is one hell of a captivating show that, if addicted, you’d always want more of this urban fantasy or anything like it.

The series tells the story of two brothers, Sam and Dean, who follow their father’s footsteps as hunters.  They go about hunting monsters and fighting all sorts of supernatural beings like demons and gods with the knowledge gained from their father. The series has had over 310 episodes and is currently in its 15th season on the CW network.

Constantine

An American horror drama television series developed by Daniel Cerone and David S. Goyer, featuring the DC Comics character John Constantine. In this show, you should expect the usual supernatural power and ability as in Lucifer, exorcism, rituals, and the likes. 

The series tells the story of an exorcist and master of the occult who is struggling with his faith, plus he’s being hunted by his past sins and atrocities. However, suddenly he is thrust into the role of a protector and savior of humanity from the forces of darkness that’s gathering.

American Gods

This is another show where you’d see enough of supernatural things, religion, worship, with lots of blood and gore. The series is an American fantasy drama television series based on Neil Gaiman’s novel, American Gods, and developed by Bryan Fuller and Michael Green for Starz.

The show follows the escapades of two men, an ex-convict named Shadow, and a man who calls himself Wednesday. It tells the story of how Shadow meets the mysterious Wednesday – a self-proclaimed God, who seems to know more than a lot about Shadow’s life. 

After finding out about the death of his fiancé, Shadow soon joins Wednesday, on a crazy journey you’d so much love to see. The show has run for two seasons, with the third season coming up soon. 

Preacher

Another supernatural show with lots of twists and turns.  Preacher is an American drama series developed by Sam Catlin, Evan Goldberg, and Seth Rogen for the AMC. It is that kind of show where you get to be really amazed, and say “This is a whole new level of crazy” at a lot of scenes there. 

Preacher is a show about looking for God. Already sounds crazy, right? Disillusioned with his newfound power, Jesse, a small-town preacher with an interesting past, along with his crew, take on the road to find God.

The mission is to make God himself confess his sin of abandoning the world. As they go, they get to meet interesting and dangerous people along the way. Preacher ran for four seasons of 43 episodes. 

Grimm

Grimm aired from October 2011 to 2017, with a total of 123 episodes across six seasons. An American fantasy police procedural drama television series created by Stephen Carpenter, Jim Kouf, and David Greenwalt, for the NBC. The show checked the box of crime, fantasy, drama, mystery.

The series tells the story of a Portland homicide detective who discovers he’s a descendant of hunters known as “Grimms” who fight supernatural forces. His quest to fight crime now made greater with the forces of evil.

Throughout the six seasons, you should expect a lot of stuff like supernatural, creature, legends and myths, police detective work, good and evil,  monster, supernatural power, and ability in action. 

Forever

Forever seems to be one of the best American fantasy crime drama series out there that couldn’t go past the first season, even with the fantastic storytelling seen in this show. Short and excellent is good anyway, for a police investigation series of its nature. 

The story centers on a man with the name Dr.Henry Morgan, a 200-year-old man who appears to be immortal. He works as a New York City medical examiner. He uses his extensive knowledge to assist the police department, NYPD in solving crimes, while also trying to discover a way to end his immortality. 

Limitless

The 7th show on our list is Limitless. A series based on the popular movie of the same name. The story picks up from where the movie left off and tells a captivating story of Brian as he discovers the power of the mysterious drug NZT. A drug that unlocks the full potential of the human brain and gives its user enhanced mental faculties. 

With these special cognitive powers gained from the NZT, he gets hired by the F.B.I as a consultant, where he works with two special agents to help solve complex cases. Just like the rest of the shows on this list, Limitless will have you racking your brain on how someone could get and use such powers.
